Athelstan Museum Visitor Information
Entrance to the museum is FREE however donations are most welcome as we do NOT receive any government funding.
You can also help by Feeding our TYGER, when you visit the museum, put a coin in his mouth and he will roar!
Also we have a number of items for sale in our Museum Shop located just by the Reception desk. Why not buy a gift or just treat yourself.
An updated version of the Museum audio guide tour is now available. The guides are free to use and they have touch sensitive screens that play a short commentary when you select one of the images of the tour stops.
With the help of our volunteers we are able to open 7 days a week including Bank Holidays.
Summer: Every Day: 10.30.a.m to 4.30.p.m
Winter (from October to the end of March) : Monday to Saturday: 10.30.a.m to 4.30.p.m. Sundays: 11.30.a.m to 3.30.p.m.
Please note that the museum will be closed for Christmas from Friday 22nd December 2017 until Monday 8th January 2018.
Athelstan Museum - Getting Here
Malmesbury is situated five miles off Junction 17 of the M4 motorway. The museum is located to the rear of the Tourist Information Centre in the Town Hall, by the Cross Hayes short stay car park. There is disabled parking at this end of the car park.

We welcome education groups and other group visits.
Our museum accessible to all. There is a wheelchair lift to the mezzanine floor and a wheelchair is available. Disabled toilets are near by.
