You are invited to a celebration of the installation in Athelstan Museum of JMW Turner’s Watercolour of Malmesbury Abbey.
An introduction to the watercolour by the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire will be followed by a talk by Catherine Parry-Wingfield, “Saving Sandycombe”: the inside story of the conservation of Turner’s picturesque villa in Twickenham, which the artist designed himself – making it a little-known work by this great artist, and unique in being in three dimensions.
