2024 marks the 1100th anniversary of Athelstan becoming king. He was buried in Malmesbury Abbey and has a special relationship with the town. Malmesbury will celebrate this important event in English history with an exciting programme of events for everyone to enjoy.
This teatime talk by Anne Goodyer sets the scene by looking at where in Malmesbury we can find Athelstan’s image and his name, you may be surprised. There will be some interesting background facts around each sighting and the talk will get everyone ready for the main events.
